Ohio National Named Best Place to Work

Cincinnati -- Cincinnati–based Ohio National Financial Services was recently named “Best Place to Work,” large company category, by the local weekly business newspaper.

The “Cincinnati’s Best Places to Work” award recognizes local companies that have shown “exemplary performance in creating a work environment that fosters employee engagement, growth and a sense of belonging.” More than 150 companies in Greater Cincinnati were nominated for this year’s program which was sponsored by the Business Courier.

“This is wonderful recognition for our company and our 765 headquarters building associates. We all take great pride in this honor. A good workplace is an environment in which associates have the opportunity to grow and be part of an organization that is succeeding,” said David B. O’Maley, Ohio National Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. “A special thank you to our associates for all they do to make Ohio National a very special place to work and for helping to execute our vision every day.”

This is the first year for this program. To participate, employers were required to send online surveys to all employees. More than 50 percent of Ohio National’s 765 employees needed to respond to validate the survey information. Honorees were chosen based solely on company-wide scores drawn from the 36-statement online surveys.

Research shows that “engaged” employees are more productive and lead to greater profitability.

The average of the scores from the survey, in which employees were asked to rate their level of agreement to the survey’s statements, were the exclusive measures used to rank the firms in each category.

Companies were divided by number of employees: micro (50 and less employees); small (100 and less); medium (500 and less); large (500-2,500); and giant (more than 2,500). Ohio National, with its 765 employees, was in the “large” category.

This is the second recent honor for Ohio National. The company was recently named to the Ohio Business 200 list as the second largest private company in the Buckeye state. The Ohio Business 200 – Top 200 Companies in Ohio program is a celebration of the state’s bicentennial and is sponsored by Ohio Business magazine.
